Happy Turkey Day!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope everyone’s day is well! On behalf of FamBiz, I just wanted to give a shout out and thanks to everyone in celebration for this day! Especially a few people who have helped make everything we’ve done and strived for possible.

First off thanks to Marc and Emeroy, for all the passion and hard work you guys have put into this team, giving us the creative direction that we need, and pushing us to the next level every time.

Thank you Roxine, Anthony, and Stephanie for leading the charge whenever needed, sharing your creative input in helping us shape this team, and all the extra work you guys may do for the team.

Thank you every single current member or alumni of FamBiz. You guys truly are my second family, we wouldn't be here if it weren't for you guys. Every moment we’ve all shared together is something I truly cherish, and I hope continued success in your journey both personal and the ones we share.

Thank you Joanna Vargas and Jayvee Dance Performing Art Center for providing us not only a home to dance in, but a place to share our knowledge and passion for dance through the classes you have provided some of us to teach.

Thank you Jon Jon for taking care of editing the music for our last set taking some stress off Emeroy!

And last but not least thank you to ALL OUR FAMILY, FRIENDS, and SUPPORTERS! Thank you for coming out to our performances, coming out to our fundraisers, and everything else you may have done! We appreciate all your support and your love! You guys help drive us to become better in everything we do! On behalf of FamBiz I just want to say we love you, and thank you for everything.

If I missed anyone, sorry and thank you as well! Have a great Thanksgiving everyone! Eat up and be safe!

Jingle Jam, Jingle Jam, Jingle All The Way!

Today's the first day of Jingle Jam! Christmas and New Years is around the quarter, and dancing before the end of 2010 doesn't sound like a bad idea. They've got a sick line up, some of us will definitely be taking Kyle Hanagami's and Tokyo Inouye's class.

Jingle Jam is where our Stephanie Hagberg was dicovered by one of the core members of Breed! It should an intense and fun two days, especially after all the finals and work we've all been doing. If you guys liked Boogiezone University, you'll definitely enjoy this!

More info on the flier! Hope to see you guys there!

Vampires Suck Flash Mob Dance

Jayvee Dance Productions is teaming up with 20th Century Fox to produce a FLASH MOB for the official DVD release of "VAMPIRES SUCK."

They’ll be choreographing a 2 to 3 minute set to a "Vampires Suck" medley and need 100-150 dancers to make the flash mob a success. The choreography will be fun, entertaining, and include props.

They’ll be giving out FREE snuggies for the first 50 people that reply with their confirmation. Just in time for the cold California weather! Perfect! We're working on getting everyone that participates a Snuggie, but we'll know for sure in a couple of days.

Here are the details.

Game Face!

The face. Your expression and emotion you give.
It’s what truly gives every routine life.

It is the key part of the dancer.

It’s what makes it an art.

It’s what gives the dance soul.

"Don't let yesterday take up too much of today."

Something that I used to wonder as a dancer back when I was in my high school’s dance team and first starting up FamBiz (back then known as E.S.U.I.) was why some rehearsals or performances would go so well one moment, and then not so much the next. I know it was frustrating for the coaches and captains, and was sure as hell frustrating for me.
I guess this can relate to a lot of movies sequels, most of them will never be as good as the first.

It came to understanding that no matter how good the product is done before, the next one may or may not be as good as the previous, if not more. People want consistency. And that’s what I believe a lot of us want. People can only stomach a roller coaster for so longer before throwing up.
